About us

Where are you located?

Every where, and no where. Even though we are located in Auckland, we service the entirety of New Zealand with telemedicine. 

Do you have a physical clinic?

No, but that doesn't stop us from providing a great telemedicine service. There are some limitations to what we can do as we don't have a physical clinic. We are not an emergency service.    

Who makes up Avian Empire? 

We are made up of two. Dr Sam Hurley, head veterinarian of Avian Empire. Sam has ten years experience in the poultry industry. Jemma McLean, avian rehabilitation specialist. Between the two of us we do everything, from consultations, website development, design, product manufacturing, dispatch and more. 

Consultations

Do you only do birds?

Sure do! We are a bird only veterinary service.

How do the telemedicine calls work?

You simply purchase a consultation. An automatic email will then be sent out that contains a digital history form. Once filled in, we will contact you to arrange a time to call. If you buy a consultation and do not receive the automatic history form email, please contact us at theavianempire@gmail.com. 

What video platform do you use for the telemedicine calls?

We use Zoom for video telemedicine consultations. If you would prefer a landline or cell phone call, please be aware you will need to provide videos and pictures of your bird.

Can you do prescriptions?

Yes, prescriptions may be issued on a case by case basis at the discretion of our veterinarian, only during consultation.

Can you do commercial flock medicine?

 Yes, email us for information and pricing.

Is your packaging eco friendly/sustainable? 

Yes! We try very hard to be as sustainable as we can in all aspects.
